UFC superstar Nate Diaz was out in Miami enjoying the Super Bowl at the start of this month but according to the Miami Herald, Diaz had a trip to police station alongside his trip to the game.
The Miami Herald reported on Wednesday that Diaz had attacked police officers at a local police station after being arrested for domestic abuse and was ultimately hospitalised.
It turns out that the story is completely inaccurate and Diaz’s representative, Zach Rosenfield, confirmed it was inaccurate to MMA Fighting. According to Rosenfield, Diaz had already been home from Miami for over a week and branded the report irresponsible.
“This story is 100 percent inaccurate, untrue and irresponsible.”
The Miami Herald have since edited their story to confirm that Diaz wasn’t the fighter involved in this situation and apologised for the error.
“In an initial version of this story, the Miami Herald incorrectly reported that mixed martial arts superstar Nate Diaz had been arrested in a domestic-violence case. The Herald apologizes for the error.”
Diaz’s representative found the story very frustrating and confirmed back to MMA Fighting that they are looking at potential legal action for the story which is as “irresponsible as it comes”.
“This is utter nonsense and is irresponsible as it comes. We are exploring legal action.”
Nate Diaz is yet to comment on the story, but we could see him battling it out in the courtroom if his team decide to progress forward with legal action.
