Jon Jones Sends Warning Message To Chris Weidman

Former middleweight champion, Chris Weidman, is one of the many former middleweights making the jump up to 205lbs and appears to have caught the eye of the reigning champion.

Weidman recently said he can see holes in Jones’ game that he would exploit and believes the power in his hands would help make the difference in that fight. “The All American” overcame the impossible when he knocked out Anderson Silva at UFC 162 and said he would like to repeat that feat by defeating Jon Jones as well.

These comments clearly got the attention of Jones who has posted a message to Weidman on his Instagram.

“I’m just checking the news; somebody tell Chris Weidman he doesn’t want to fight me. Hey Chris, stop.”

Jones also added the following caption to his video message:

“Be careful with that target you’re staring at on my back, it just might bite you in the ass.”

Weidman makes his first appearance at light heavyweight against the undefeated Dominick Reyes who is currently 11-0 with his latest win over highly ranked Volkan Oezdemir. Reyes is now 5-0 in the UFC and is knocking on the door for a title shot himself so a win for Weidman would put him in a very strong position.

Reyes vs Weidman headlines UFC Boston on the 18th October.
