It looks like we won’t be seeing two gorillas throw down in the UFC octagon just yet.

Jared Cannonier has taken to social media to confirm that he has torn his pectoral just two days after Darren Till accepted the fight. Cannonier also went on to take shots at Till sort of blaming him for the injury as well.

“@darrentill2 I’m happy you found some courage and finally decided to accept the fight. On Monday. But only two days after I tore my left Pec completely. When it happened on Saturday 7th February, I was in Houston to talk about how you wouldn’t accept the fight. Now had you said yes when they offered, instead of dodging the fight presumably, I would have been in PHX gettin ready to beat yo ass. I’m not blaming you but I kinda am. Anyway, I’m gettin surgery on Tuesday. If you’re still around in the MW division, I’ll hit you up in the fall. P.S. tell your little minions to stop tagging me in your weird ass posts.”

Cannonier also stated that he wants to face Till when he recovers from his surgery and is targeting a return to action in the fall.

The former heavyweight and light heavyweight fighter has been on a tear since dropping to the middleweight division picking up wins over David Branch, Anderson Silva and Jack Hermansson. Cannonier is edging closer to a 185lb title fight and a big win in his next fight may put him next in line after Paulo Costa.
