Cris Cyborg Calls Dana White A Bully

Fresh off of her unanimous decision win over Felicia Spencer at UFC 240, Cris Cyborg is uncertain of her future in the UFC. The fight with Spencer concluded Cyborg’s current contract with the promotion which leaves her to test the free agent market should she wish to do so. However, the fight everyone involved seems to want is the rematch with Amanda Nunes for the featherweight title.

Cyborg and Nunes first met in the co-main event of UFC 232 where Nunes dethroned Cyborg just 51 seconds into the first round to become the undisputed featherweight and bantamweight champion.

When asked about the possibility of facing Nunes next at the UFC 240 post fight press conference, Cyborg admitted that she is unsure of the future due to her relationship with the UFC. Cyborg also alluded to the fact that Dana White has repeatedly claimed that she doesn’t want to fight Amanda Nunes as well.

“Everybody knows that I don’t have the greatest relationship with UFC. I don’t have the best relationship with Dana White. He’s bully me around, bully me on the internet. I suffer bullying everywhere because of this. I have a daughter, I have a father and I don’t think it’s nice. He never said he’s sorry to me about this. This just continues, it never finishes. Like saying I am saying to fight Amanda Nunes, saying I don’t want to fight her. This is a lie because I text him after the fight saying I want the rematch, and this is not helping me to grow my brand. This damages my brand. To keep me working for a promotion I don’t want somebody who will damage my brand, I want to grow together.”

Dana White has stated on several occasions that Cyborg doesn’t want the Nunes rematch, as shown in the video below from TMZ.

It will be interesting to see whether Cyborg resigns with the UFC for the Nunes rematch or whether she takes off to fight for another promotion elsewhere. Could we see her back under Scott Coker at Bellator and taking on Julia Budd for the 145lb crown there?
