2019 Cage Warriors Fighter of the Year, Mason “The Dragon” Jones, gets his first opponent of 2020 and it looks to be his toughest test to date.

Jones will step in to face former UFC fighter Danilo Belluardo at Cage Warriors London on March 20th. Jones will be looking to extend his undefeated record to 9-0 and edge closer towards a lightweight title shot in 2020.

His opponent, Belluardo, is a former UFC fighter who joined the UFC ranks in 2019 but was released after losing his first two bouts via TKO. During his UFC tenure, Belluardo suffered defeats to Joel Alvarez and Mark O. Madsen respectively.

The Italian fighter does boast a healthy 12-5 professional record and has also competed in Bellator against A.J. McKee, again, losing by TKO.

Although he will likely be the favourite heading into the bout, it does represent a step up in competition for Jones and marks the first former UFC fighter he has faced in his career. Jones last competed in October 2019 at Cage Warriors 108 and picked up a unanimous decision win over Aleksi Mantykivi.

Cage Warriors also announced another four fights for the card, here is the line-up of fights for the card so far.
