Rhalan Gracie, Grandson Of Helio Gracie, Set For Bellator Debut In May

Another member of the Gracie family is set for an entrance into MMA as Rhalan Gracie signs with Bellator.

Rhalan Gracie is the son of Relson Gracie and grandson of the creator of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Helio Gracie. MMA Junkie have confirmed that Rhalan Gracie will kick of his MMA career with Bellator MMA on the prelims of Bellator 242.

Gracie will take on Dominic Sumner who has four professional MMA fights and a 1-3 professional record. Sumner also have prior Bellator experience with his last bout being a second round TKO loss to Thomas Oswald at Bellator 199.

The fight will be contested at welterweight which means Rhalan Gracie joins another three family members in the Bellator welterweight division as Neiman Gracie, Robson Gracie Jr. and Khonry Gracie are also signed to the Bellator roster.

The bout was among seven total prelims added to the 9th May show which is currently scheduled to take place at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. Here is the fill list of preliminary matchups confirmed so far.

Middleweight: Alan Benson vs. Evan Gubera

Middleweight: Ivan Batinich vs. Joe Kropschot

Featherweight: Hyder Amil vs. Brandon Laroco

Welterweight: Gabriel Pacheco vs. Abraham Vesau

Welterweight: Rhalan Gracie vs. Dominic Sumner

Flyweight: Ryan Attebery vs. Mike Howard

Bantamweight: Daniel Oseguera vs. Sorcrates Hernandez
