The flashy Bellator Kickboxing welterweight champion, Raymond Daniels, returns to mixed martial arts competition at Bellator 238 against Jason King.
The bout was officially announced by Bellator on their social media showing off Daniels last MMA bout with the promotion where he dispatched of Wilker Barros via first-round knockout.
Daniels is only 1-1 in MMA competition losing his MMA debut under the Strikeforce banner back in 2008 before returning to the cage last year and picking up his first win. Although he is a newcomer to MMA, Daniels is a veteran in kickboxing and is currently 8-0 under the Bellator Kickboxing banner.
Daniels previously competed in the highly prestigious Glory promotion where he challenged for the Glory Welterweight Championship. Daniels went 4-3 under the Glory banner with his only losses coming to Nieky Holzken and Joseph Valtellini.
His opponent, Jason King, is a 8-5 fighter making his Bellator debut and has mainly competed under the Valor promotion for the majority of his career. There’s no doubt this is the highest profile fight of King’s career and a big upset would be huge for “The Asian Persuasion”.
The fight has been added to the Bellator 238 card which sees Cris Cyborg make her Bellator debut as she takes on current Bellator featherweight champion Julie Budd for the title in the main event.
