Pride FC, UFC and Bellator veteran “Rampage” Jackson suffered his first defeat via knockout in over 14 years to fellow Pride legend, Fedor Emelianenko.

After the fight, Rampage spoke about the outcome of the bout and stated that the weight was a factor in the defeat, but he had no excuses.

“Sorry guys, we didn’t get the outcome that we wanted but you know what? I knew one of us was going to get knocked out, but I didn’t know it was going to be fucking me. I ain’t mad though, you win some, you lose some, you get paid for all.

It’s all good, I’m not in a bad mood, I just know what I got to do. I’ve got to get my damn weight down, I felt like a hippopotamus out there. But that’s my fault, no excuses.”

The former UFC light-heavyweight champion weighed in for the bout at the 265lb heavyweight limit leading to criticism from fans. Rampage appeared slower than the Emelianenko who admitted himself that he envisioned the fight hitting the mat but kept the fight standing when he realised, he was faster than Rampage.

The 41-year-old has admitted that he needs to drop some weight, could we see Rampage back at 205lbs where he did his best work?
